The Bachelor's Degree Program in Food Science and Technology (ITP) at the Faculty of Agriculture (FP), Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta, once again organized a program in collaboration with global partner universities titled the 5th International Guest Lecture Week of Food Science and Technology (5th IGLW). This activity featured top scientists from universities ranked highly worldwide, specifically 57th and 74th in the QS by subject Agriculture and Forestry rankings.

The 5th IGLW was organized through the world-class university program grant from UNS with the support of funding from the LPDP through the DAPT funding scheme. This guest lecture event was attended by 200 participants, including students and lecturers from the ITP Program at FP UNS.

Dr. Setyaningrum Ariviani, the Chair of the 5th IGLW, mentioned that this year's IGLW guest lecturers from universities included in the QS 100 by subject in the field of Agriculture and Forestry. These universities were Kasetsart University, Thailand (ranked 57), and Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia (ranked 74). The 2023 IGLW was conducted both in-person on May 16, 2023, and online on May 22, 2023, after previously being fully held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"ITP has successfully organized the IGLW event four times from 2016 to 2021, and this year marks the 5th IGLW. IGLW consists of a series of guest lectures with foreign lecturers aimed at providing broader knowledge and experience, especially for students and lecturers," explained Dr. Setyaningrum in a press release sent to uns.ac.id on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
