Karanganyar – The KHDTK Gunung Bromo UNS, also known as Alas Bromo, successfully organized a cultural event on Sunday, October 22, 2023, titled "Bromo Culture Festival 2023: Reog Performance and UMKM Bazaar," conducted by the UNS Forest Education and Training Center. The purpose of this event is to preserve the cultural heritage of Reog art, continue the tradition of competing for the UNS Rector's rotating trophy, and showcase Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in the Alas Bromo area. The event received full support from the UNS Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T., M.T., who stated in his speech, "This Reog performance is the second year organized by the UNS Forest Education and Training Center. Reog art is a world cultural heritage from Indonesia that must be preserved rather than acknowledged by other nations. Therefore, UNS, as a university, aims to preserve Reog culture through this event."

The event was chaired by Dr. Ir. Lobes Herdiman, M.T., who explained in his committee chairman's speech that out of 8 registered art studios, 4 successfully qualified for the final and performed in Alas Bromo. Additionally, 12 UMKM participated in this event. The committee chairman also expressed, "Our hope is that through this event, we can preserve our culture, as with this Reog performance, we can safeguard our cultural heritage to prevent the loss of the identity or essence of the Indonesian nation. We are also very proud of the art studios that have participated."
